Coach Jeff
Coach Jeff brings more than two decades of on-court teaching and coaching experience within Texas public schools, offering an unmatched blend of energy, structure, and passion to every program he leads. A true multi-sport athlete at heart, he spent seven years coaching at Robinson Middle School in Plano ISD, followed by fifteen years at Rogers Middle School in Prosper ISD. While he enjoys working with players of all ages, his true specialty lies in guiding middle school athletes through the foundational years of their tennis journey, helping them build confidence, discipline, and a strong technical base.
Originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, Coach Jeff picked up his first tennis racquet at just eight years old. Although he competed in basketball, baseball, and football throughout high school, tennis remained the sport he continually returned to. He went on to attend Nebraska Wesleyan University, where he competed as a three-sport athlete in basketball, baseball, and tennis, culminating in a senior-year appearance at the National Tournament. After college, he continued playing competitive tournaments across Nebraska before relocating to Texas to begin his career in education and coaching.
On and off the court, Coach Jeff’s passion for the game continues to shape his approach. His favorite player is Roger Federer, and his favorite shot is the forehand a reflection of his dynamic and strategic style of play. Over the years, he has had memorable moments connecting with the sport at the highest level, including meeting the legendary Bryan Brothers at Indian Wells and hosting Grand Slam champion Austin Krajicek on the courts at Rogers Middle School. Among his most meaningful memories is competing at Nationals in Kansas City during his senior year of college, a moment defined not just by competition, but by the camaraderie and experience of traveling and playing as part of a team.
