Coach Kwaku

Coach Kwaku grew up in Middletown, New York, and was introduced to tennis at an early age by his father, who began playing after immigrating to the United States from Ghana. Since picking up a racquet at the age of five, Kwaku has developed a lifelong passion for the sport that led him to compete at both the NCAA Division I and Division III levels.

With experience working with players ages 8 and older, Coach Kwaku is dedicated to creating a positive and motivating environment where athletes can build confidence, improve their skills, and enjoy the game of tennis.

One of the most memorable moments of his tennis journey came during high school, when he competed in a match that would determine whether he qualified for the New York State Tournament. After winning the first set, Kwaku began cramping and fell behind 2-5 in the second set. Despite the adversity, he saved seven match points and completed an incredible comeback to win 7-5, earning a spot in the state tournament and advancing to the semifinals of his sectional tournament.
